What Is #GivingTuesday?

On Tuesday, December 1st, we’re celebrating what we’ve accomplished. Won’t you help us celebrate with a day dedicated to giving? Let’s all give together for #GivingTuesday.

The goal of #GivingTuesday is to create a global day of giving back, which celebrates generosity and kindness. The day falls on the Tuesday following American Thanksgiving each year. #GivingTuesday for 2015 is December 1st.

On December 1, you’ll be recovering from a “retail therapy” overdose. Over the American Thanksgiving period, Black Friday has traditionally been a crazy, door-breaking mad scramble at traditional retailers. In recent years, we’ve added more madness in the form of Cyber Monday for online shoppers. I love a good deal as much as you, but the blatant consumerism is starting to make me feel a bit dirty. I mean, people get hurt during the scramble on Black Friday!

That’s why ADDA is participating #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday is your chance to celebrate the real meaning of the season. We can all use our wallets to show our gratitude through giving.

On #GivingTuesday, adults with ADHD (and the people who love them) can give as good as they get. #GivingTuesday is December 1, 2015, the day after Cyber Monday. Black Friday and Cyber Monday help the economy; on #GivingTuesday, it’s time to help your community. We’d like the entire ADHD adult community to “double down” and say thank you for ADDA’s support.

You can even use your donation to pay tribute to a loved one or to say thanks to someone special who supported you or a loved one at a trying time. You will receive a prompt thank you and tax receipt, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting many services for adults with ADHD, research and education through ADDA.
