Kate Mageau, MS, LMHC, NCC, ADHD-CCSP of Empowering Therapy, PLLC
About Me
Professional Biography
Kate Mageau (she/her) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and ADHD-CCSP based in Seattle, Washington. As a queer, Latina, late-diagnosed ADHDer and domestic violence survivor, she brings both clinical expertise and lived intersectional experience to her work at the intersection of ADHD, toxic relationships, and LGBTQ+ health. Her experience as a participant and later support group facilitator at New Beginnings, a Seattle-based domestic violence agency, is what ultimately led her to become a therapist. Combined with her own late ADHD diagnosis, that journey became the foundation of her clinical specialty. She now specializes in domestic violence, ADHD, and neurodivergent and queer populations. Kate is the author of two books on toxic relationships, a continuing education provider for clinicians, and a professional speaker dedicated to giving clinicians and survivors the neurological framework they need to understand why ADHD survivors stay, and how to help them safely leave.
