Kristin Seymour, MSN, RN, AHCNS, is a board certified Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist with ADHD.
Kristin consults with ADHD children, parents, adults, and educators about ADHD and adaptive strategies, and accommodations needed for success academically, occupationally, and socially . As an ADHD patient, Kristin understands the condition better than most clinicians, and implements are hands-on, real-life approach when consulting with her patients. Kristin also works as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the Heart & Vascular Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She is a passionate about mental wellness, and is currently working with legislators and public health officials at the local and federal level to eliminate the negative stigma associated with mental illness, including ADHD.
Kristin is a member and clinical resource listed with the American College of Cardiology (ACC), Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), Children & Adults with ADHD (CHADD), and The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).
Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Valparaiso University and her Master’s of Science from Purdue University before entering the nursing profession, where she worked in acute critical care since 1995. During a brief return to Northwest Indiana in the middle of her career, Kristin was also an associate professor at her alma mater Valparaiso Univerisity. Her passion for teaching and helping others has also fueled her recent work with individuals diagnosed with ADHD. Her consulting work was borne of the success of her 2016 book “The Fog Lifted: A Clinician’s Victorious Journey with ADHD”, which reached #1 on the Amazon bestseller list in the book’s category.
Kristin enjoys cross-training, traveling, gardening, cooking, playing piano, and spending time with her family. She resides in suburban St. Louis with her husband Jim of 21 years, and their two daughters.
