As a biracial African-American ADHD & Recovery Coach who has ADHD, I understand both complex identity and what works. My expertise is in working with clients who have ADHD, those in recovery from addictions, those who have other mental health issues, as well as issues related to African-American and multiracial identity. My approach is informed by my first-hand experience with these issues, 12-Step Recovery and over 15 years of mentoring adults who have a dual-diagnosis (addiction and ADHD or other mental health condition), eight years of experience leading dual-diagnosis groups in McAuley Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, as well as in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, professional training with the ADD Coach Academy and my work as a mobile coach with Hirschman Clinical Services in Los Angeles and in my own practice, Ariel Davis Coaching.
I attended U.C. Santa Cruz (American Studies), U.C. Berkeley, (African-American & Mixed Race Studies), and San Francisco State University (Theater Arts) before receiving my B.A. in Humanities from New College of California in 2006. I am also a credentialed Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation and the ADD Coach Academy.
I offer both virtual and mobile coaching. If you live in the Los Angeles area I can see in-person at your home or a location that is convenient for you. Working with me, you will develop unique strategies and tools to discover your strengths, create specific, concrete goals and tools, and get relief from your challenges so you can get out of your comfort zone and into solution.
I am committed to making a positive impact in the world by serving and honoring the ADHD community as a whole. It is also my mission to create and facilitate greater awareness, dialogue and action regarding mental health stigma and “invisible” disabilities in the African-American community and other underserved populations in my practice, Ariel Davis Coaching. I celebrate both inclusion and all experiences, supporting you to find your unique voice and use it!
