I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW) and am Certified as an ADHD Specialist, (CCSP) as well as a Trauma Treatment Specialist, CCTP. Many symptoms of ADHD are similar to symptoms of trauma as well as other mental health issues that share co-morbidities with ADHD. In my practice I regularly utilize assessments for bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and ADHD and regularly monitor to assess for treatment progress. I have experience as a medical and psychiatric social worker working at inpatient psychiatric hospitals for five and a half years. Additionally, I have worked as an intern at Adult Protective Services and Social Advocates for Youth, and post graduate intern as an Associate Clinical Social Worker for Jewish Family Services providing community therapy. As a volunteer I have worked as an Ombudsman for Long Term Skilled Nursing Facilities, and San Diego Hospice. In addition to an MSW from San Diego State University, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in psychology and music from University of California San Diego. In my previous career I had a private practice as a Holistic Health Practitioner, HHP, in the San Diego region, where I had a private practice for over twenty five years. I integrate my knowledge from my previous career in working with clients, promoting exercise and nutrition along with techniques from motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and utilizing DBT skills building. I work to provide a safe supportive space for clients to uncover their strengths in order to empower my clients. Many clients with ADHD have specific traits and tendencies that if understood and given psycho-education along with skill building treatments to help build efficacy in areas of their lives that previously were elusive. I am credentialed with many health insurance companies.
