For many women with ADHD, one thought can quickly become a spiral. A conversation gets replayed. Feedback feels like rejection. A forgotten task becomes evidence that you’re failing. And before you know it, a single moment has turned into a much bigger story about who you are.
In this webinar, Master Certified Coach Heidi Fishbein explores why the ADHD brain can become caught in patterns of rumination, overthinking, and negative self-talk, and why those thoughts can feel so convincing in the moment. Participants will learn how repeated experiences of correction, misunderstanding, and perceived failure can shape the stories we carry about ourselves.
Heidi will introduce her practical Notice, Name, Nudge framework to help participants create space between a thought and their response, question what feels automatically true, and begin building a more compassionate and trusting relationship with their ADHD brain.
Because the goal isn’t to control every thought. It’s to stop letting every thought control you.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify common ADHD thought patterns such as rumination, negative self-talk, and assumptions of rejection, and understand why the brain may use these patterns in an attempt to anticipate and protect against perceived threats
- Recognize the difference between thoughts, emotions, and facts and explore how emotionally charged thoughts can develop into deeper beliefs and stories about identity, worth, and capability
- Apply the Notice, Name, Nudge framework to create space around an automatic thought, examine it with curiosity rather than judgment, and intentionally consider alternative possibilities
