Biographies

Kamala Randhawa – Moderator

Kamala is a certified ADHD coach, speaker, consultant and community advocate. In addition to her professional capacities she adds the lived experience of being a late diagnosed ADHD woman and mother to five neurodivergent children. Due to this late diagnosis and its impact on her life she is passionate about advancing the interests of people with ADHD. She has had the privilege of coaching adolescents through to adult ADHD individuals internationally. Speaking to teachers, parents, and government groups, she has seen first hand what happens when people with ADHD get overlooked and conversely, the positive impact that education and support can have for people with ADHD. She believes deeply in approaching the problem with an interventionist model of education around early detection and support for women with ADHD. She works closely with schools to support students with ADHD. Having experienced the difficulties that accompany late diagnosis and with ADHD children, she is heavily invested in this area and is passionate about breaking the pattern of generational trauma associated with undiagnosed and unmanaged ADHD.

She adds to her work by volunteering on the ADDA Education Committee, Advisory Board member for Womens ADHD Centre, pro bono coaching work with single mothers, women with addiction and founding the ADHD Family Cafe, a community organization that serves as a hub for families impacted by ADHD. In her spare time she can be found frantically trying to complete the reading for her monthly book club, volunteering in her church, West Coast Swing dancing and walking her dog in the river valley.

Larry A. Jones, MD, MBA, AACC
Pediatrician, ADHD & Life Coach, Author and Presenter

Known as Dr. Larry, he is an inspirational coach for parents, children, adolescents, and adults, who supports and encourages his clients to succeed by helping them to acknowledge and appreciate their talents and gifts, which in many cases have not been acknowledged.

Dr. Larry A. Jones is a retired pediatrician trained at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. After his postgraduate education, Dr. Jones remained in St. Louis where he opened a general pediatrics practice including a specialty in children’s learning disabilities, namely, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

Dr. Jones served as the chief administrator for childhood lead poisoning and all child and maternal health activities for the St. Louis Department of Health. Most notably, he coordinated the treatments for childhood lead poisoning, a known cause of childhood ADHD. He coordinated all the lead remediation efforts for St. Louis, including St Louis Building Division, the health department and the Urban League, while reporting lead test results to the state, hospitals and insurance plans to assure appropriate follow up of lead affected children.

Upon leaving his practice after 25 years, Dr. Jones has been a child advocate, using his platform to engage parents and educators in better communication and closer collaboration. This passion culminated in co-authoring Falling Through the Ceiling; Our ADHD Family Memoir with his wife Audrey Jones, about the challenges of raising their three ADHD sons in the 1980’s and 90’s. Written to guide parents and educators through the trials of ADHD childhood and adolescence, the book provides amusing stories to encourage and support parents through this period.

As an ADHD and Life Coach he uses his extensive lived and professional experience to support individuals with ADHD and other neurodiversities. As the founder of TASTE of Success Coaching, Turning ADHD from Stigma to Stability is his mission.

He was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from CHADD (Children and Adult ADD Association) in 2022. Dr. Jones was honored for his tremendous impact on raising such awareness of ADHD in minority communities. “The stereotypes of ADHD,” he says, “have been particularly daunting for children of color in public and private educational spaces, requiring the constant diligence of parents to prevent inappropriate treatment and mislabeling.”
