It has been 20 years since the presenter’s book Women with ADHD was first published. During the last 20 years many more women with ADHD who didn’t match the previous stereotype of a hyperactive little boy, have become diagnosed and treated. More than that however, starting 20 years ago and continuing today( as in this webinar) women began to talk to each other on the internet and began to define for themselves what their experience of living with the challenges of ADHD are like. They began connecting with each other, finding their own voices in a way that influenced the field of ADHD but also most importantly in their own lives. This webinar will reflect what Sari Solden has learned in the last 25 years of counseling women with these gifts, challenges, and differences.
She will address both the woman and the professional wanting to help, to understand what are the healing elements for women wounded by the experience of growing up undiagnosed and why the executive functioning challenges for women are so complex because they collide with the internalized gender role expectations they have idealized.
