Diann Wingert was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult because of many struggles she encountered while self-employed. Diann was a licensed psychotherapist for over 20 years, including 8 years in a solo private practice. Because she was successful working inside organizations, she assumed she would succeed as an entrepreneur. However, it turns out you face many more challenges when you are your own boss.
Initially, she thought all she had to do was start taking medication and her life-long struggles would magically disappear. She hired a therapist, and joined an ADHD coaching group as well. She could see she was getting closer to where she wanted to be, but something was still missing from the picture.
Eventually she figured out what no one was able to teach her. She realized she needed to learn how to do ADHD—and more importantly how to be an individual with ADHD. She understood she needed to not just understand ADHD, but fully accept it as well.
Currently she serves as a Certified Coach and Lifestyle Strategist for ADHD entrepreneurs, creatives and independent professionals. The focus of her work is on discovering what each client personally needs to feel and function at their best as well as identify what causes people to stall out, get stuck, or spin their wheels. Once the causes are identified, clients learn how to successfully avoid these reasons and situations. She can make a difference for ADHD clients because she really gets her clients and because of her unique qualifications. She sets up her clients for success, not failure.
Today Diann says she still struggles with procrastination, perfectionism and people pleasing, but she feels she is 1000% better than she used to be. She loves being an entrepreneur and working with other entrepreneurs. Diann is totally convinced that ADHD can be your entrepreneurial superpower, if you know how to manage challenges and leverage the strengths you possess.
