VOLUNTEER INFORMATION Register Online - Download Registration Form - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Do you want to make new friends and make your attendance at the 12th Annual ADDA Conference even more rewarding? Then join us a volunteer at the conference! Volunteers are critical to the success of the conference each year and there are lots of ways to help: AD/HD AWARENESS BOOTH – NATIONAL CONFERENCE We are setting up an Awareness Booth at this year’s National Conference in May. The booth will feature a display of Awareness products, Awareness Kit materials, an Awareness Survey, Essay Campaign and Awareness Logo Contest information, as well as Awareness Stories of Empowerment. We need individuals interested in working on setting up the booth, and to either work the booth during the conference, or to solicit volunteers to do so. In addition, we are looking for individuals who are willing to be at the booth for specified (short – i.e., a half hour) periods of time to share their AD/HD Stories of Empowerment with conference participants. Awareness Survey: To encourage and support local advocacy and support groups and professionals in their efforts to raise awareness, The Awareness Task Force is preparing a survey to assess the resource needs of these organizations and individuals. We will solicit responses to the Survey at the National Conference in May, and we will also forward the survey to other individuals and groups unable to attend the conference. Following the Conference, the committee will compile the data from the survey and prepare a report detailing the needed resources and sources of support. The Awareness Task Force is looking for individuals interested in working on the Survey. Essay Campaign: Share your AD/HD Stories of Empowerment – If you’re looking to make a significant impact with a minimal amount of effort, share your AD/HD story of empowerment through our Essay Campaign. In his book, You Can Negotiate Anything, Herb Cohen stresses the importance of getting our individual stories out to the public. He states that in order “to maximize the impact of an event, people must be able to identify with those involved and with their circumstances…no one identifies with large numbers or depersonalized statistics, but almost everyone commiserates with… a flesh-and-blood person”. Help us change people’s misconceptions about AD/HD and share our message nationwide by sharing your story of empowerment. Stories will be featured on our website and at the National Conference. Check out our website, or stop by the AD/HD Awareness Booth at the National Conference for details. Awareness Logo Contest: CALLING ALL CREATIVE ARTISTS! ADDA’s Awareness Task Force is looking for a new AD/HD Awareness Logo. Let your creativity shine by entering our logo contest and sharing your artistic version of our theme, “Awareness + Education = Empowerment”.Volunteer Desk Session Monitor
It’s a good idea to take extra Evaluation Forms with you just in case. During the session, stay near the door to help late arrivals, to keep the door closed against outside noise, and to collect the evaluation forms at the end. Additionally, there is a Session Monitor Evaluation Form for you to fill out. This records how many people attended, how many left early, how well it went, etc. Return the forms to the volunteer desk in the session packet. Door Monitor for Special Register for the conference to get the early registration discounts and sign up to volunteer now so you can get your first choice of volunteer sessions.
