Paul Orfalea Award
Kinko's Founder, Paul Orfalea, has established an award to be presented at the 12th Annual ADDA Conference to recognize the accomplishments of others with similar challenges. The premier Paul Orfalea Award will be presented to an outstanding individual who has had a positive impact on the image of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) through his or her achievements and service to others.

Welcome General Session
This general session on Thursday (2:00-3:00) is mainly designed to orient attendees in how to navigate the conference. Information about general conference issues, special events, using the program guidebook, etc. will be discussed.

Open Board Meeting
This general session on Thursday (3:30-4:30) is a great opportunity for conference attendees to meet the ADDA Board, the Professional Advisory Board, as well as committee and task force chairs. Join us to learn more about programs and events currently in the works. The last few minutes of this general session will be open to written questions from the audience.

Welcome Reception
A Welcome Reception will take place on Thursday evening, May 4 from 5:00-6:30 pm. Join us as we open the 2006 ADDA Conference with light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. This is a great opportunity to re-connect with old friends, as well as make some new ones.

Morning Power Walk with Dr. Terry Dickson
Join our own conference Chairman, Dr. Terry Dickson, as he leads morning power walking sessions around the beautiful Wyndham Orlando Resort, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 6:00-7:00am.

Morning Meditation with Katherine Wolf
This morning mindfulness meditation group is for people who have never meditated, people who think they can’t sit still long enough to meditate, and people who think meditation is a shortcut to boredom and frustration. It is also for experienced meditators, who may or may not be familiar with mindfulness meditation, and the different techniques that are available. We will practice walking and other movement meditations, as well as techniques that can help people with ADD deal with traditional sitting meditation, without going bonkers, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings from 6:00-7:00am.

Talent Show
New this year is a combined dinner and talent show format on Friday evening from 6:30-9:30 pm. Please join us for a plated dinner. Tickets will be available onsite on a space-available basis until noon on Friday, May 5, 2006 for $65.00 per person.

The ADDA Talent Show is a one-of-a-kind event. Performers of all levels entertain one of the most supportive crowds you can ever imagine. People laugh, cry, and cheer for the great amateurs, professionals, and novices that make up a large part of the AD/HD community. This is an opportunity for you to share your talents. It is also a chance for those who haven't done it before to "face the fear" and give it a try.

General seating in the ballroom will be available to those who aren’t attending the dinner once the Talent Show begins.

Free Time (Saturday afternoon and evening)
Take advantage of “free time” on Saturday afternoon and evening to check out some of the fun places in and around Orlando.

Use the I-Ride Trolley to easily navigate the International Drive Resort Area (Wet ‘n Wild, The Mercado Marketplace, SeaWorld, Orlando Premium Outlets, Belz Factory Outlet Center, as well as many places to eat and shop). The Main Line route services International Drive both north and south bound (there is a stop right by the hotel). There are 85 convenient stops and the Main Line trolleys arrive approximately every 20 minutes. Single cash fare is .75 cents. If you think you’ll be riding the trolleys more than once or twice you might consider getting an economical Unlimited Ride Pass (1-day pass $3.00/person; 3-day pass $5.00; 5-day pass $7.00, etc.). Hours are 8:00am-10:30pm daily.

There are also quite a few restaurants (including fast food) and shopping areas within easy walking distance of the hotel. Ripley’s Believe or Not Museum is right next door. Disney World is just a few minutes drive away (arrangements for tickets can be made right at the hotel).

For those of you that would like to stay on property during Free Time on Saturday, May 6, 2006, there will be optional Networking sessions available, as well the opportunity to use the pools and other resort activities.
