Awareness Day Alert

ADDA would like to extend an invitation to all advocacy and support groups and professionals throughout the country to join us in the recognition and celebration of the 2005 National AD/HD Awareness Day. It is only through the collaborative efforts of national and local organizations, as well as AD/HD professionals that we can hope to end the stigma that surrounds AD/HD and ensure that all individuals with AD/HD receive the proper diagnosis and treatment needed to lead successful lives.

To that end, we encourage you to consider taking one or more of the following actions. For further information on how to do so, please visit our website at http://www.add.org

  • Place an announcement on your website, in the body of your e-mail signature, and in your correspondence, and encourage others to link to our website for further information.
  • Sponsor your own Awareness Day activities or events and provide us with the details of these events. To do so, simply go to our website and download a copy of the Awareness Day Event Information Sheet. Follow the directions for completing the form and then fax it to our offices for publication on the website.
  • Download the Awareness Day Kit from our website and share the poster and informational documents with your membership or clientele.
  • Share YOUR story of empowerment on our website.
  • Visit the Awareness Day Store link on our website and check out our new Awareness Day products. There is a wide selection of merchandise available, including that which is particularly appropriate for groups and professionals to pass on to their clientele or membership. All proceeds from the sale of these products go towards funding National Awareness Day activities.
  • Show your support through your presence at the Senate briefing on Capitol Hill September 14th.

For additional suggestions on what you can do to honor National AD/HD Awareness Day, go to our website and download a copy of the document entitled “What Can I/We Do”. Please contact our office at either by phone at 484-945-2101, or by e-mail at mail@add.org for further information. We are happy to answer your questions or discuss others ways we can collaborate to ensure the success of Awareness Day.
