Awareness Day Alert

ADDA is pleased to announce that it has, once again, been successful in its efforts to spearhead passage of a U.S. Senate Resolution declaring September 14, 2005 National AD/HD Awareness Day! The Resolution, which was co-sponsored by Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Dick Durbin (D-IL), passed with unanimous consent on July 27, 2005.

ADDA is proud to be the lead supporting organization of National AD/HD Awareness Day. CHADD and NMHA have signed on as official supporting partners in an effort to bring awareness about the challenges and triumphs of living with AD/HD to legislators, educators, employers, media and the general public. ADDA is seeking partnerships with a variety of advocacy, educational and professional organizations with similar goals of improving lives for individuals with AD/HD. As a partner, organizations will have the opportunity to share information about National AD/HD Awareness Day with their members and affiliates. All of our National Awareness Day partner organizations are invited to link to our Awareness Day website, and will also have their organization and website listed on ADDA’s AD/HD Awareness Day website and in our Awareness Day materials. We also encourage our partner organizations to join us in planning and implementing a variety of Awareness Day events and activities throughout the country, including a Senate briefing on Capitol Hill on September 14th. Please contact our office at 484-945-2101 or mail@add.org if you are interested in becoming a 2005 National AD/HD Awareness Day partner, if you have any questions, or if you wish to discuss other ways we can collaborate to ensure the success of Awareness Day.
